Harmonies

Where, does Music take us? Flying, enchanted in a Vibrational Magic Carpet ... Surrounded by Harmonies and Melodic Ethereal Voices ... I just close my eyes, jump from one symphony to another, each one holding a world to discover ... And I find myself through the power of Music and Sound ...

Deluge

Sometimes I’m nearly overwhelmed by the deluge of gifts earth bestows on us, entirely unearned: water, air, food, the ground beneath our feet… So what should be our response to the generosity of the world? Paying attention to it. Drinking it in. Letting its energy flow into us. Celebrating… the physical and spiritual things, the tranquil and exhilarating things, prayer and poetry and pancakes alike.

Cosmos

The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.

Witness

In the shifting colours

of rising dawn

I am witness

and participant,

privileged to

know myself one with

drama beyond imagining,

magnificence beyond reverence.

Tingle

If we wrapped up against the cold, we wouldn’t feel other things, like the bright tingle of the stars, or the music of the aurora, or best of all the silky feeling of moonlight on our skin. It’s worth being cold for that.

Play

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Gaia

I am Gaia.

I am the shifting sands,

the fragile moment.

I am the land I walk,

the ebbing tide

and the desire of my heart.

Paradox and conflict,

many voices,

One.

I am the what is

and the what is not.

Ride

Come fairies, take me out of this dull world. For I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame.

Tonic

We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.

Druid

Against a near-dark sky
a lone figure stands:
tall,
straight,
unmoving.
And for a moment
this is not merely a man;
instead a druid,
ancient,
in all his still and silent power,
lost in contemplation
of the departing moon.
The sand seems to shimmer
and a ripple of energy
passes beneath him,
spreading outward
even to where I sit,
mesmerised.
The ground is reaching upwards,
surging with power and
embracing the moment of communion
made possible by the presence of this
human lightening rod of
listening possibility.
Air pulses in response
and the moment is gone.
The world grows lighter
and the figure moves,
simply a man once more.
But the moment is not lost
for it has been witnessed.
I have heard, have felt,
the call of Earth,
heard its conversation with the Sky.

Stars

If Only

If she could only be one of those,

those who gild their wording in gold
who speak in rustic,
                                autumnal hues

and bring forth the world, one thought at a time.

Her voice emerges slowly
carved in inky blacks and ashen whites
fracturing the laden air, dissipating.

She is the unread,
                         mispronounced and unrefined.

She wishes to reach out and touch
with fingers tinted in poetry,
painted in midnight blues by circumstance,

to talk of the stars, to believe she could reach them.
